Free Hook Generator
Tell us what your video is about and get 10 scroll-stopping opening lines for TikTok, Reels or Shorts in seconds.
Why the First Line Decides Everything
Viewers decide in the first two seconds whether to keep watching. A good hook makes a promise (a result, a mistake to avoid, a question they need answered) that the rest of the video keeps.
This generator mixes proven hook types (questions, bold claims, mistakes, stories, numbered lists, POVs) so you can pick the one that fits your video, or test a few against each other.

Got Questions? We've Got Answers.
Is the hook generator free?
Yes. Generate up to 10 sets of 10 hooks a day with no signup. Copy one hook or all of them.
What makes a good video hook?
It's one short sentence, specific to the video, that makes a promise the video keeps: a result, a mistake to avoid, a surprising fact or a question the viewer wants answered. Say it in the first two seconds and show it on screen.
Does it work for TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Pick the platform and the hooks are written for it. They also work as the first line of a longer YouTube video.
Can it write hooks in other languages?
Yes. Describe your video in your language (Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Portuguese and more) and the hooks come back in the same language.
How do I add the hook to my video?
Say it as your first line and put it on screen as text. BatchEdits does this automatically: it writes a hook for every video from its transcript and shows it at the start, for up to 50 videos at once.
Should I use the same hook on every video?
No. Test different hook types. The same video with a stronger hook can get several times the views, so try two or three and keep the winner.
What is the best free hook generator for TikTok?
The BatchEdits free hook generator writes 10 different hooks for TikTok, Reels or Shorts from a short description of your video, mixing question, bold-claim, mistake, story and list hooks. No signup.
How do I write a hook for a short video?
Start with one specific promise: the result, the mistake, the surprising fact or the question your video answers, in one sentence under 120 characters, said and shown in the first two seconds.
Can AI add hooks to all my videos?
Yes. BatchEdits writes a hook for each video from its transcript and puts it on screen at the start, for up to 50 videos at once.
